Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

one of my old conolons has a slight bend in the tip section, (kind of like the bend in this old guy's back..lol).  i would imagine that it came from age as the rod was always stored upright or in a case.  my question is this:  can i undo the bend anyway?  will that slight bend affect casting if i leave it alone.  this was one of the brown, 4 star rods made by garcia (usa) in the 60s and early 70s.  thanks for any help.

I've worked on lots of these old 4 stars as far as rewrapping etc. Never seen one with a warp before. I wouldn't attempt any fix!!! If it casts ok it  should be fine. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO HEAT THE BLANK IN ANY WAY IN an attempt to straighten it !!! That can be done carefullyyyyyyyyyyyyy on old bamboo, but not glass. Rich the only thing you can do is put it leaning against something in a warm area of the basement etc. and have it bent the opposite of were the warp is now. I did this twice and it worked , but you may have to leave it a long time.........
