Do you love big bluegill?
Fished a new body of water today, temps upper 40's after a cold front, clear water can see down6-8 feet, edge of weeds is in 10 feet, only 48 acres. Took the big boat so it was hard to control and really didn't know where to fish. I do have this lake on my Lakemaster Chip so that helped for starting points.
Very tough bite, managed two bites resulting in two fish, an 8" Bluegill on an inside turn in 17-18 feet of water and a 12" LMB caught in 9 feet of water in submerged timber. That was it-only saw a few fish on sonar. Tried long casting the Lil Minnow with no bites. Two fish were caught on a altered curly tail grub to make it look like Frank Manuel's thin tail minnow-this is first time using this type of bait.
