i am lovin this conversation.years ago a dead deer was floating around a strip pit i used to fish.gills especially big ones stayed in the deep weeds 12 feet or more.the 10 days or so this deer stayed afloat maggots flies and all was the best gill fishing ever in this pit .a road kill pattern?
Just remember when fishing the carcass to fallow the golden rule.

"DOWNSTREAM" not "DOWNWIND"

I hung me a few last year and yea it works awsume. Had to come up witha way to keep all the other critters off of it but I got it now.

Take a nose pincher.
Confession time I see. I put a can of catfood in my minnow trap. chunk it out where I'm gonna fish. the bait fish come to my trap and the bigger fish come for the bait fish. Catch both the big fish and get bait fish same time. Most the time I'll run out in the afternoon drop my trap and the next morning go get them. Now thats just me.
