Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Caught roughly 794, 327 bluegill, pumpkinseed, and redbreasted sunfish today on my 5wt with a black and white foam spider.

Looks to me like that creek would hold plenty of suckers. Suckers are fun on light action setups with worms or larvae on the bottom.
@ Michael-I saw A LOT of suckers. The only way I have ever seen anyone catch them was gigging at night. I didn't know they would bite a hook. I saw blue suckers and hognose suckers. I'll have to try for them next time! I have a feeling I will be going there often!

I live not too far from a river in CT that holds lots of white suckers up to 4 pounds, including most of the lakes and ponds that the river runs through.

Worms, nightcrawlers, and small insect larvaes such as white grubs are good to throw on the bottom with a split shot anywhere from 6 to 12 inches above the hook. I've hit plenty of them that way.

The only problem for me would be to keep the panfish and bass (usually swimming withthe suckers) off the bait long enough for the sucker to get it!
