Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I realize this may have been covered before now, and I’ve missed it. So bear with me...

But I've been wondering how much time the members of BBG actually spend fishing.

Myself, for example, I make time to go at least once a week. I’ll go more if the opportunity presents itself.

Others may be retired - or independently wealthy - and may go everyday, anyday.

Still others may be more interested in going fishing than actually making the time to go.

For each of us, it is somewhere within this range.

So what is it for you?

I fish every night during the warmer months. Since I hand feed my fish, (no feeder), I am at my ponds seven nights a week. Might as well cast a line while I'm there.

I generally have to limit myself to once or twice... a day. In the early Spring when it's fairly cool, I will fish for a couple of hours before work (I try not to get too fishy-smelling if I have to be in the office) and will fish for a while during lunch. When it gets hot, I fish after work instead of at lunch.

My office is less han 200 yards from the lake.

Best Fishes,

Keith

Proximity matters
I try to get out every weekend spring though October.....but the wet rainy spring sure has had an effect on the amount of time one gets on the lakes up here in northern Minnesota
During the warmer months, I try to get out a minimum of 5 times a week, including weekends.  Like a couple of others, I have quite a few lakes (sand pits) within minutes of home and work.  I prefer the short drive time, 2 or 3 hour trips.  The weekends are usually reserved for longer trips.

With first having a nice pond in my back yard to living now on the lake, I try and wet a hook everyday.

With my job I need a place to escape to and a fishing pole and a large glass of ice tea after work helps me close out my day.

Grandkids on the weekend it a must to go fishing with PAWPAW. This keeps me out of the bingo halls with the rest of the old forts.

Good for you MR!

Not enough!
Usually twice a week on days off. Only two minutes from my house to boat ramp. Might be more if retired. Love the lake on early mornings between 5 and 10am before all the pleasure boaters hit the lake.
I fall in the more interested than time will allow.  I am hopeing to get my four year old out this year.  We didnt make it out at all last year.  Have only made it out one time and she had fun and cought a lot of fish but I havent been able to get any of the pics posted yet.  Thats a big part of why I joined this site,  even if I cant get out I can see pics and video of those that can.  So keep the pictures and videos comeing for guys like me.
Daily.. (pond owner) I miss alot of Sundays however.. Sundays I relax and mow usually..
Wow after reading some of the responses from folks whom I know love to fish, I can officially admit I have a fishing addiction issue LOL! I will at least fish for an hour or two or three, depending on day light 4 days per week minimum. It is not uncommon for me in the summer to fish 7 days each week. I work a regular 40 hour a week job as a Clinical Case Manager in the City but when I get off at 4pm, it’s off to the water I go! Sometimes I’ll leave the house at 5am during the work week and sneak in an hour of fishing at the local city pond near my job. Usually my lunch break is spent at the water trying to catch a quick bass. I get jokes from my Church family, Co-Workers, and friends about how my poles staying in my passenger seat. Growing up in San Diego California I was able to fish January through December but now that I live in Maryland really April thru December is all I have? I give that as my excuse to my wife LOL. My Wife graciously understands and we have no children yet so she gives me a passes often. Also the second date I took my Wife on when we were dating was a fishing trip. So she knew what was coming. The Chesapeake Bay in the region has fish like Croakers and Spots that come in town for the summer months. Me and a buddy of mine will often go out at night and fish from shore until day break then hustle back up the highway and make it to work. Who needs sleep when you’re catching fish? Onetime we fished for 36 hours straight for real!! A lot people I know love hunting, bowling, archery and try to get me to join in with them. I tell them, I can’t afford another hobby! There is literary nothing I’d rather spend time or a vacation doing except fishing with family and friends.
