Had the Taste for Some Gills…..
Thawed out some whole gills and my wife was very happy when we sat down to dinner tonight…..
Do you love big bluegill?
Great bluegill day
Headed out to Lake Manatee and launched the kayak before daylight. Caught four bass to four pounds on a black popper before the sun was up. That bited ended at dawn. So, I pulled out the 3-weight fly rod and started catch hand-sized bluegill. End up with 40 -- all on my Myakka Minnow. Home by noon.

What a beautifull Copper Nose Bluegill.
I've been lusting at a chance to get to Florida just to chase the gills down there. I just can't quite fishing local long enough to re arainge my goals. lol Thank you for sharing, ole Mike

Yes, the lake is in Manatee County. It's nine miles east of I-75 off S.R. 64.
