Just got back from a pond Linda and I fished this evening for about 1 1/2 hours. We used the slip-sinker rig with garden worms on the bottom and got about a dozen small bass but picked up 5 tanker BG/GS hybred sunfish that all exceeded 10 inches and one pound apiece. As usual, Linda got top honors with an amazing 11.5 inch fish that had survived a injury, perhaps from a heron or hawk, as there was a noticable wound between the soft and spiny dorsal fin on top.
The pond is about 2 acres and very clear water...saw lots of empty spawning beds and small bass cruising. This is the same pond that has produced hybreds for us up to almost 12 inches in length.
Excellent fish Jim!, Them girls will get ya every time! LOL!! Could you describe the slip-sinker rig a little more? I think I get it but want to make sure. Keep up the good work!
