Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone have any experience with Daiwa Presso rods? I'm thinking about getting an eight footer as my first ultralight. I'm thinking to pair it with a Pflueger President spooled with Seagur's new braid, Smackdown. The 10lb test is only .005 diameter. Any thoughts or suggestions?

sounds like a great setup... i own pflueger reels and also own daiwa spinmatic rods...series just a notch under the models you selected. im very happy with them. my favorite length UL rod though is a 5-5 UL. that length rod is probably around the most popular length for UL selection for bluegilling.... what made you decide to go 8ft? i use my 8ft daiwa spinmatic for tossing slip bobbers or fixed bobbers.

i just read the reviews on the smackdown line... sounds awesome. 10lb test at a 2lb test mono equivalent is amazing.

hope you have great luck with your new gear.
