Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

One big female still looked gravid.
Actually today I was targeting Yellow Perch - and I located a great spot on a submerged point. When I connected - I dropped a bouy and concentrated on that section. I landed several nice perch - and also a couple outsized BG, a SMB and a Pumpkinseed. It was about 18ft - 20ft of water.

Both these 2 BG females were about 9" and in great shape. Anyone else find Perch & BG together like this often - or do you find they keep to themselves?

Awesome pictures!
Hey Farm Hunter...I have been catching a few really big, 13 to almost 16 in, yellow perch occassionally in the mix with the big gills we have been catching at a public PA lake. Usually, we'll be catchin gills and then we pick up a few perch, and then no more perch the rest of the trip. I guess that the perch are on the move and when they come through the area, we might pick up a couple, then they move on in their nomadic behavior. Good Job!
when I was little fishing with my dad we always caught perch and BG together..nice catch!!
Great pics! sometimes I find BG & YP together , however it is infrequently.
Tight Lines BGS
Nice Catch with a good variety too!!!
I find them together in multiple on the primary lake I fish. Use only wigglers (real wigglers), we constantly catch 14" perch followed up by 10" gills!!
how far down was you bait? ( e.g. bottom, middle, top of the water column.)
i often find perch in with big bluegill. that might be more of a regional issue, though, and the pocomoke river is very deep and very narrow. There is not alot of panfish habitat, so big and small, they stick to structure.
