Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

On vacation in Kingsland Tx staying in a rental home and fishing off their dock.   We caught several good bluegills today three catfish and one small drum.  All the old fashion way, bobber, hock and pinch weight and wax worms.  I kept it simple as my son-in-law had never caught a fish before.  He caught three and enjoyed himself.  I may have made a convert out of him.

The daughter and son caught a few as well,  My son caught the small drum on a weighted fly tipped with a wax worm.  Fun on  fly rod.

Awesome photos. I really enjoyed them. Thanks.
Went to a clear pool to try to catch some small carp on flies but they wouldn't bite anything we threw at them. Even tried to entice them with bread and they ignored it. Caught several finger size pumpkin seeds, they were all over my sinking flies but all were tiny. It was enjoyable sitting on the side of the pond with my feet in the water fishing like a little boy again.
