I haven't caught any good-sized bluegill anywhere in California in June. Come to think of it, I haven't caught any bluegill at all in June :-(
OK, one by accident. My wife had set her rod down on the boat dock at Bethany and I was fly fishing off the dock. About 20 minutes later and she was still off feeding our toddler and I happened to look down and notice the rod sliding across the dock and starting to head toward the edge. I picked it up and pulled in the (amazingly mouth-hooked) 6-inch bluegill on the other end. It basically caught itself so I can't really count that one :p
