Berkley Gulp Minnows Strike out
Yep, another fail for the Berkley folks. If you remember, I used the Gulp maggots and earthworms last season to no avail. This time it's the small minnows. The label says that Gulp! beats live bait. I guess the fish around here never got that memo!
Today I strung 1" Smelt minnow baits on a 1/100 marabou jig head, suspended beneath a small float. I also tried the minnows on a single #10 hook, with no weight. This sort of thing seems to be gettin' gills all over the country - except here in South Carolina.
In epic fashion, the river also ate my one and only Panther Martin In-line spinner. Once again, the Edisto River sneers at my attempts to catch any of it's fish.
