Do you love big bluegill?
Well another season is closed for me. Pretty much fished fixed line this season and was able bring to hand a 1.125 inch bluegill. Hope to get my 1 inch fish in 2016. Most fishing was done with a 6 foot bamboo pole and an 8 foot Japanese telescopic with 1 or 2 lb test and hooks sized 12- 32. This season, my fishing was done without float, and 100% from the bank.
Lessons Learned
Small fish fight as well as big fish when you downsize the terminal tackle and rod / pole type.
Line indicators work great since you can see movement in all directions from the fish
Hot Dogs are still the best bait and if your can find an inexpensive blender at Goodwill, they make a great paste for small hooks
Don't get caught up in the gear and just have fun

it sounds like you had a good season Joe... much of the fun is in the pursuit whether your after Master Angler, Quantities, for the dinner table or just target size... putting together the study, tackle and approach you made it happen or you came close.... thats what gets us out there again and again
congrats Joe
Slip - Thanks looking forward to the hard water season. Not that I fish but that's where I get a few of my micro fishing ideas :)
me too Joe... last ice fishing season taught me alot about tiny offerings and presentations... had the best season of my life during the 2015 season and 99% of the fish came on 2" baits or less in size. My 21"+ SMB came on a 5-6' UL rod with micro ice braid at 2# test pitching a 2" swim jig on a 1/32 oz jig head!
