Flies for Bluegill

Started fly fishing early this summer, to get in some casting practice I would slip off to a small pond and ended up catching a few Bluegills. Started off with trout in mind but now I am not sure I am not having more fun fishing for Bluegills. Am I alone in this???

We caught almost all of our fish on 1 32 nd oz chartreuse , round head jig heads tipped with a piece of nightcrawler and fished in slow hops and twitches along the bottom in 4 ft of water. We also got a few on # 0 Vibrax spinners and Clyde Douglass got some nice big gills on a home made surface spider that he tied. I am sure that other tactics, especially live bait options, would have worked as well.

when you'r on turn up your chat volume. this is what you do, go to the top of the page, click chat on the right (its on the menue bar) then when you get there put up the volume which is next to the smilie face, and the computer volume because the beep is very soft. this is because if someone trys to talk to you the chat volume is on mute you wont know they are there. if you want to talk to someon just copy and paste this message.

Welcome Scott,
I ain't but a stones throw from Columbia, Alabama. Had to look up Columbiana. Your up above Montgomery, almost yankee territorry aint it?

Your blog asked a question and most blogs on here are just people talking to hear themselves talk. I'm one of the worst. If you want to get some good back and forth with just about any kind of question to do with Bluegill, go to the discussion tab and post a question there.

If you want to ask a sort of private question you go to that persons page and ask it there as a comment. Everybody can see it, but they have to go to that persons page to do it.

That being said, here goes. Is your place in NC in the mountains? Does it have a trout stream running by it? Can I borry it when you ain't there?
