Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Will be in Charleston, SC in 2 days. Where to wet a line for some panfish, especially red breasted sunfish, specie not found in Wisconsin?

I was afraid of the high water on these upstate drainages.......We've had a  mild winter in the coastal Carolinas but the price has been the rain for sure........hope you get a chance to get back there soon.........

I'm glad you got to sample the great seafood of the Low Country.........I have some all time favorites there and can't wait to get down there........

Stopped at the Edisto today, River was way out of its banks, plus it was raining pretty hard. Oh well, at least now I know where it is.

Had shrimp and scallops(bet I’ve ever had) last night, but no grits for me.

Am here, Thursday morning it was 31 below, today 64 degrees above zero. Wow it’s nice to be warm. Headed down coast tomorrow towards the Edison. Was hoping to find a guide but unable to find one yet. Will try fishing from shore at a few places.

Sorry that I’ll be missing you, Jeffrey. That would have been fun.

Hey Kelly......The best locations for the trophy RedBreast or "Robins" in the Low Country are the fast running black water rivers with the closest one to Charleston being the Edisto River.......The Pee Dee rivers are further North and hold great size and numbers of RBS........I lived there for thirteen years and had a boat which is very important to reach the panfish in these regions........Theres a few state parks on these rivers but I have seen flood warnings on all of these rivers as recent as last week.......Santee Cooper lkaes are just an hour out of Charleston but it's difficult to just arrive and catch fish without a working knowledge of the lakes........I will be down in a couple weeks , wish I was there to show you around.......good luck, Jeff Abney
