Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Why floats work. This is close up and dirty. Never again use the term- "they're biting". Notice the multiple attempts to draw the meal in using gills. If your hook creates resistance, neutral gills will give up and back off.

Watch this video closely and you are will learn how fish feed. You can see the particles of water being sipped in by the gill. You also see that this fish made two attempts to take this bait in and failed. The next reaction was that the fish backed up.

If your tackle, your float, your hook place resistance in the path of feeding - fish are trained and geared to register this "thing" as non-food.

The most important part of this process- if the fish backs up or the fish is not aggressive it will NOT return. Many anglers, many baits are taken millions of times in lakes where the angler never sees a take - they never see the line move or their bobber move.

The fish then go away - they are there, you just won't get any of them to make that third, aggressive advance on your bait. If you are fortunate, the fish will be in the mood to make that third attempt to sip in your bait that is too big, on too thick of a line. Jigs, large hooks, thick leaders, lots of split shot near the hook, round floats (round bobbers big foam bobbers) all contribute to us not seeing the take.

This video should be earth-shattering like video of the birth of your baby!
Seeing how bluegills feed is cracking open secrets for the first time. Things master anglers such as Izaak Walton or Mr. Thill figured out many years ago- on video. This is truly ground-breaking and should change your life and your fishing. Think about how many times the fish tried to take your bait but it couldn't - how many takes have we missed out on in our lifetime?

I can't stress enough - in the winter go small small small. Their sip is not huge in the winter, it is small. They do take big baits but they spend the winter sipping in the tiniest little zooplankton. Great post below about not taking a waxie and switching to single spike. There are times I take a blade and go half spike!

Down viewing fin that I go down until I stop that I can see bottom! Clear water and 4 inch of ice that I able to see 8 feet off the bottom and its about 6 feet diameter. I see some fish at about 5 feet above the bottom then I raised my jig/spikes up to front of the fish.... many times I am surpised that they just look at my bait and some just ingore and leave! View getting smaller during the ice getting thicker, more snow on top and cloudy! Would be nice to add something like strong infraed that able to see in dark with ultra red lights!

John S. I looked at FishTV Plus Owners Manual and the address is Nature Vision, Inc. 1480 Northern Pacific Road Brainerd, Minnesota 56401
Toll free number at 866 777 0733 Maybe you can call to find out or check in google.com to search for FishTV website. Hope it help what you looking for. I use down viewing fin almost 100 percent of the time because I like to look down to see whats down there also I able to tell that fish is crappie, perch, bass and bluegills. I only use side view little time to find underwater cribs or tree on the bottom. Great for deep and clear water lakes where I go ice fishing but problem is diffcult to see at 25 feet or deeper on thick ice, lot of snow on top and cloudy!

Very interesting! I have fishTV for ice fishing! I found a nice bluegill on my camera and it refused my jig/waxworm then I changed to spikes. The bluegill just watch it so I grabbed my 3rd rod..... 1 lb line, tiny jig and one spike. Got a nice 9.5 inch bluegill then released! Cool to have fishtv to see whats down there! bottom, covers, fish, etc!
