There is an adaptation process that bluegill go through with new foods. Sometimes it takes several weeks for them to totally accept a food, regardless of how palatable it is. The process is much, much quicker if it occurs in warm water. Bluegill will experiment a lot more in 80 degree water, with their higher metabolism, than they will in 35 degree water. It's worth a try. One thing I would suggest is to moisten the pellets for a short while before dropping them down the hole. Bluegill will reject a feed much more quickly if it's dry or crunchy. Let me know what happens.

do you keep thoes bluegills in a fish tank? if so what size (gallonage) is it, how do you take care of them, how do you keep it clean and do they ever reproduce?
