John, Yeah Lake Norman kind of sucks for structure, So they gravitate to any kind of structure. Otherwise its empty banks with clay.

That drop to 6' may make the difference those fish want Derrick!

That shallow , I'm surprised !! The fallen Oak tree on my home lake that was a real producer in years past for good sized Gills good size Bass and an enormous one ., and unlimited Crappie was reaching out to a creek channel that went to around 12' .The tree was lieing in 3' or less to around 6' at the end . I always figured the fact that this tree was in line and near the 12' Creek channel, was what  gave it such a special quality .Other trees on the lake that were shallower and didn't have that depth change were not all utilized by good fish like that tree was .

John. it goes out to about 4 feet i think. This part of the lake is weird. Ill be 2ft one second drop to 6 then back to a huge 2ft flat

What depth does that tree extend to Derrick?

Comment by John Sheehan on August 24, 2016 at 10:10am

Crappies love wood .Oak trees can be killer if near the right depth ! Nice   Bass too Derrick!
