Hey Jim,
I soked up the article in In Fisherman today and thouroughly enjoyed it. I appreciate how you presented Gill fishing in the article and thought it represented us Gill Getters very well. I also thought you approached conservation in a very tasteful way. We all love to eat Gills and we all want to catch that 2+ lber. but that won't happen if we don't take care of the resource and practice a little catch and release. After reading the article I was proud to be apart of the Bigbluegill.com community. Thanks for being a good abmassador for our sport.

Jim - How has DCL produced at ice out in recent past years? I'm thinkin I'd like to kidnap my brother and take him on a fishing trip. Our deceased brothers widow lives in Westminster where you are...small world!
Now I'm envy ,retired and nothing to do but fish. Your my hero. My fishing is limited to the weekend. I'f mawmaw ain't got me painting mowing are something like that. Congratulations on the retirement know you earned it.
I've been born and raised here it Texas ( 1951) Seen it snow mybe 10 times my whole life. I can make fun of ya guy now but when it's 101 in the shade down here, then it'll be your turn to rub it in on me. lol One of the items on my bucket list is to come up there and ice fish one time just to say I did. Hope the snow lets up and you can get back at them. As far as retirement my wife is high maintainest I'll be at it another 10 years if I'm lucky. Keep bring them in and posting pictures love to see all the fish from up north that I'll only get to see here on BBG.
Jim are you all dug out up there? Did you really retire? Congratulations on that guess you will just have to fish and tie jigs, eh. It is a tough job but some ones got to do it. Ponds thawed out today , finally, should be froze backup tonight and tommorrow. Don't know about you but I am ready for spring.
Jim.........Im takin off my big bluegill hat sat night. I get to drag out my new camo hat with the L E Ds built in in it and try and catch me some night crappie. Hope they dont see me!
Well Jim...there is not much you can do. I believe the fish here are conditioned to extreme cold. -15 will be a warm spell up here, come Feburary! It would a good time to tie some hair jigs! I have been practicing my fly tying skills during this -40 at night business! It is possible to catch fish when it is that cold out! The question lies with how well you can handle it...LOL! I would get a same collection of ice jigs and Gulp! waxies and head for the deep weedline edge!
