Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I finally got some ice time in!!! I have been so bogged down with school and work that I have not been able to get in as much time as I wanted. I was finally able to get away today and drill some holes. Things started out real slow. Not much time had passed and I soon realized I needed to go deeper than my usual 7-9ft. Yup, that's right 7-9ft. I'm a sight fisherman! Staring through the hole, playing the puppet master, that's what I do most of the time. Except for today. Today called for a depth of 15ft and the use of a Vexliar. The spring bobber and the sensitivity of the St.Croix Legend were also vital. Here are my results! It was a great free day!!!

Thanks guys! It was a blast! John, the bass were mixed in with the gills. They always are. I believe that its apredator/prey relationship. The bass stick close by the wandering gills, for eating purposes, like if I were to follow the pizza man around town!! LOL!

2lb, my friend, YUP! That picture there is of my groceries!

Great catch BW!Looks like you got into some chunky bass .A fish thats been more elusive than the Crappie,Perch  and Bluegills to me. Were they at the same spots and depths as the Gills?
