- What type of animal is a bluegill?
- Retreat Meadows is Gill heaven; lots of weed-bed pockets, good shelves, varying shorelines between stone cliff to marshy grass and it's connected to the Connecticut and West Rivers so it gets good circulation and fresh fish finding their way in. I fish it with poppers on a fly-fishing rig and just adjust the popper size so the smaller guys don't go after it.
