John...I would pick the warmest part of the day and fish any area that might be warmed slightly by sunlight or slightly warmed surface water that got pushed into a cove from wave action. Bobber and jig/bait at various depths til you locate them. Fish like you would right after ice-out.

Chris ,dont rush it man ha ha still some boat fishing left .I have to admit though I was getting the ice fishing bucket out and checking my poles and tipups and putting a tip top on a busted ice rod just the other day .I felt foolish doing this before Thanksgiving but no one was looking.

Water temp,the last two weeks has been 'tween 44-50 degrees at the NW cove inlet pipe on my local Lake.Been catching Gills in 3' of water when the water is 46-50 degrees.32nd oz jigs tipped w mealworms or crawler pieces deadsticked.
