Great photos and fish .Thanks Bill!
Nothing left out in the depths? They must be moving around alot with this crazy summer weather we're having this year.I think the first time, I told you they were out deep, the schools were smaller and more scattered. The last time out, they were quite large and seemed to be quite a good number of fish out there,(suppose they coulda been rockies) but I dont for some reason catch very many of them out there. I wonder, were they'll be this week, when I get out again. How are the Fingers off Trinkes, to the north or west, worth looking at? Seems like pike area to me,but that may be a fall troll pattern that locals use out there.I will have to remember to look there, when I'm out again this week.
Great gills !!!
Had good luck using the (blue) 1/16th Blue Fox Flash Rattlin Spoons first time out when it was an overcast day, but last two times out in cloudy bright sunshine not had much luck at all with said spoon... tipped with about one inch piece of night crawler...cast out allowing to hit bottom and then slight twitch on steady retrive...is that how you fish the spoon... have fished it also over side of boat in jigging maner....fishing off breaks down as far as 25-30 ft...any help in technic, tipping bait, spoon color would be appreciated.
BILL, Sorry we couldn't get together this past Saturday. Hopefully the schedule will reopen in the near future as well as some better weather. Got out on the Rock with my brother on Sunday and even though he's a trolling freak, he humored me and we anchored up along a weedline so I could try my new batch of Swede Pimples I had hoped to try on Saturday. I'll post a pic of the pike I nailed on the very first cast! Didn't find a single gill but the pike more then made up for it (for now!). Looks like you found some nice fish this weekend anyway. Hope to connect very soon. Bob
Bill, nice pics. I hit Delavan Sunday morning. I honestly think Delavan is finally showing the result of being constantly pounded. You have to sort at about a 4 to 1 ratio to get keepers. My buddy and I were vertically fishing the spoon; however, we were only finding small fish. Best presentation was dropshotting with crawler chunks.
I was on Delavan Sunday morning as well......we experienced a tough bite also. We managed 20 keepers on 1/8 to 1/5 oz spoons in 20-26 FOW.....saw alot of gills and smallmouths on the aqua-vu, just not alot of biters.....I think this weather has them tight lipped....things will come around, I realize that this lake gets pounded by quite a few anglers, but I don't believe that overharvest is the reason for the less than optimal bite. Once things stabilize, and the water begins to stratify, the bite will come back for individuals in the know.....Geneva's fish were NOT in their usual locations for this time of year either....we just need our typical summer weather to re-establish known fish locations.

P.S......Have you checked the overstockbait.com RFS stock?

Started a full round of self-punishment yesterday at 10 AM.....Boat traffic was psychotic along with the synthetic chop that it produced. Targeting gills, we explored areas adjacent to the flats and were rewarded with only slime weed......joined the parade of boats and headed east to G bay where we were entertained by armies of juvenile perch that were in close proximity to stone manor, this ultimately resulted in an aerial onslaught of seagulls (sky carp).....after exploring several areas of the bay with dismal results, we positioned the boat in an area known as turnaround central....15-20 FOW....heavy traffic, and high seas....a proverbial rollercoaster ride from hell.
Tossing 1/8 - 1/5 oz spoons tipped with crawler chunks, we located a sweet spot in seemingly the busiest intersect of the lake. We threw a marker bouy on the spot which would soon become an official part of a slalom coarse that was enjoyed by all watercraft...this spot produced dozens of giant gills long before the dinner bell rang, and the lake quieted down.

Released 27 giants, kept 15 under 9"

Bill, nice job. Pretty brave of you to be out there in a jon boat on the weekend!! As always, great job on the video. I didn't get out this past weekend. Hoping to get out this weekend. Take care.
