Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Was recently given a hummingbird fish finder by a friend and decided to install it on my Ocean Kayak Drifter.  I was not really wanting to drill any holes in my yak or goop up my storage area so I made me a mount out of pvc and used the rudder pivot hole to handle the tranducer.  A small gel cell battery and some zip ties took care of the unit mounting.  The battery fits perfect in the molded out area in the cockpit where a small tray tackle box is held by a bungee cord.  All cables are ran along the top and secured by zip ties.  It works great and no holes had to be put in my yak.  Thought this might help anyone wanting to add a fish finder but not wanting to drill holes in their boat.

looks like a nice clean install.

Nice idea man. I finally got to try mine out. Had old man winter get in the way than just as it was warming up I got hit with a deployment. I wanted a shoot thru set up that I could move from one yak to another. I used Butyl Putty to mount the tranz under my seat. It works great. You have to heat the putty and be careful not to make any air bubbles. I love it. It keeps it out of the water so I don't have to worry with drag. anymore.
