Do you love big bluegill?
Hello, my name is Harry A. Lamey in Biloxi, Ms. and would like to join the Fl Panhandle Bream Busters. We are not that far away from each other and looks like we share the same type of fishing. I fish for bluegill only with a fly rod and am a avid…Continue

Finally managed to catch a decent gill or two. Feels like it's been eons since the last catch. Spent 3 days fishing Fish Pond Drain area at Lake Seminole last week. First two days were just getting a feel for the area by exploring and a little fishing. The third day we found a bream hole but had only a couple of hours to fish. That was enough to put 23 bream/gills and 3 crappie in the cooler.
Headed down to lower Choctawhatchee River tomorrow morning for mullet and a little bream fishing. Got a report they are hitting well in upper river area near Geneva.
I'm going to be fishing Talquin and Oklocknee River area on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Only been on Talquin twice and that was years ago.
I don't really know anythng about the place so looking for any recommendations on what areas to try. I'm not a spider crappie guy or know trolling so plan to plug a little fo bass and drop shot for bream and crappie. I do have some decent electronics on the boat.
Hope somecan point me in a direction that will give me a start.
Heck of a report there Tim. You must have been in a lake. River fishing over here is not producing much right now. I think I need to hit Lake Juniper a couple of times until the river gets more fishable.
Living in a desert in Aguila, AZ, poles leaning on cactus. Very sad. Wishing everyone well, and leaving the group. Catch mine for me, please. Tight lines, screaming reels.
Finally targeted bream but without a lot of expectations. We didn't expect much but just wanted to get out of the house and on the water.
Went down to Pinelog yesterday with Freddy, one of my fishing buddies. Pinelog was high but water clear all the way down to East River. Fished from 9a to 3p. Only one other boat there all day. The catch as one 12 inch bass, one 12 1/2 inch shellcracker, and one 9 inch red breast. We missed maybe 2 or 3 bites. That was it.
Too the opportunit to explore East Rive a little since neither of us knew much about it. Just up the river a ways from Pinelog intersection there is an old wood bridge across the river. It's non-useable now. It was very well made and probably used to truck logs many years ago. Looked like a heck of a crappie spot when river is down. Water was 10 ft with the high river so no sure what it will be in normal times.
River is still all over the swamp and running well. We got more rain today with some up in Alabama. Hopefully this will kee the river high for a while longer.
Man, that's a big'un............
With Iamonia at full pool I assume you can get a jon boat in there now? I know low water you need a yak, go-devil, etc to get around with all the pads and grass. Sister was here this week and I'm going over to see her in a couple of weeks and drag my G-3 jon along.
Nice Job Tim!
