Gotta say my friend did me right when he gave me a pair of Korker cleats something like these: http://www.korkers.com/footwear/ice-cleat/lace-up-cleat-k1000-plus.... They are secure on the ice .I've fallen on my ass more than once before using these.
Lets hear it for 20 yr. old Sorel boots too!
I like using a trout vest over my coat to take around the bait ,camera,pliers,clippers,Measuring tape etc. It saves trips back to the main bucket and releases the fish quicker.
