Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

i know i am opening a can of worms(no pun intended).but having chased the mighty gill with fly and rod for over fifty yrs. i thought i would ask all of you the pointed question.
if you could only fish one fly for gills what would it be,or in other words what is your most productive gill fly.

I realy like your poppers.
Do you turn your own bodies?
Where do you get the flat leg material? I can't find the flat stuff.
Is the hook run through the center or off center, or at an angle?
You said you use vinyl paint. Is that like model paint? Where do you get it? Do you just dip the poppers or use a brush?

Sorry for all the questions. Thank you.
I find the best fly to be a phesant tail nymph. A big bluegill see's the shine of the bead head and goes crazy.
Shooter, That dragon fly nymph is a great looking fly thanks for the info on that one.
the most perductive fly that i use is the blue zulu. it is bright so it attracts bule gills. and they hold on to the fly longer so you have more time to set the hook
Cameron, What is a blue zulu. Any pics or recipes?

Here is a link showing the Blue Zulu
I would say it is my Naybee.... a picture found on my page
The naybee is a killer. I KNOW!!!!!
Steve, great looking flies.
I tied a few of the dragonfly nymphs.

I used a # 4 curved shank hook.
Rib: 4 peacock herl
Body: olive chinille
Wing: black maribou
Eyes: brass bead chain

Kirbaer, Great job on the flies. I went smaller on 8 2x long hook and rabbit dubbing. Fun fly and maybe by end of the week will get to fish it. High today 48, first day above freezing since Christmas eve blizzard, so I am hopeful. Shooter this was a great assignment how about another.
Great job on the dragonfly nymph.
