Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Thanks Musky Mod - your post a year or two ago has changed not just how I fish for Bluegill - but how I fish overall.  Sure I can catch them other ways - but not and catch Perch, Smallmouth and a walleye or two at the same time.  Late summer - I've come to expect big bluegill -it just a lot of fun!

That's what this site is all about...sharing tackle and tactics that work across the board, across the nation.

Chalk one up for Bill Musky Mod!

I'm new so i didn't see post on spoon fishing. Can you tell me what spoons and size your talking about?
Thanks

Thanks FH.......It has also changed the way I fish....with the exception of the pre-ice period, spoon fishing makes up for 97% of my tactical approach.

Same goes for me and I turned my brother and wife onto spooning gills. Thanks Musky Mod!
This picture is from a typical summer evening on "my lake". The bluegills I tend to do better fishing straight down - and the perch and walleyes like is swum back to me near the bottom. I don't make any long casts.

Some of the best bluegill fishing I've had in the last two months was using the "Musky Mod" methodology of spooning! Thanks, MM!
