Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

New and short lived to this web site .When I first discovered this web site I  was quite excited. When I offer a piece of information I certainly would not   label it private.. A video called " redear sunfish eating bloodworms "is label private. Tried to view it l could not.. I need no explanation . I will remove this web site from my PC Fred

Fred, perhaps you don't need an explanation but you're going to get a response anyway. That post was made by Bruce Condello, the owner and originator of this site. I don't know the reason for it being private right now, it certainly wasn't when it was posted, and knowing Bruce personally I can't imagine that he would ever exclude anyone from watching it. Perhaps the private label is in error, but no matter the reason I am confident it was not done in a malignant manner.

Stick around and contribute, and learn with the rest of us. If there's one thing bluegills can teach us, it would be patience. LOTS to learn here, and to call it quits after just one vid that you aren't currently able to watch is quite premature in my opinion.

pardon me if I have more patience with bluegill than my fellow humans.. I saw the word private but tried anyway. when I tried I was reminded that the video was private and was unable to view it. I perceived that as an attitude and wanted no part of such  a web site .PREMATURE It was not my mistake..Now I have an insult added to injury.Should I value your opinion ?

You should do as you feel is right for you, Fred. I read further down that you have decided to stay, and that pleases me. We all can learn from one another here, which is the primary reason BBG exists in the first place...to share information concerning the fish we all love. Jump in, share info, ask questions...that's what we're all about.

I am a moderator here on site, if you still want to leave just let me know and I will remove all traces of your membership, posthaste.

Fred;; dont give up on us quite yet buddy !! i have no idea why that video is listed private as well;;  just a few weeks ago;; this site had a change  in format;; perhaps it got messed up there. At any rate;; we here at big blue gill; have become somewhat of a family;; we trade information;; ideas;; as well as some of our fly tying; and jigs; not to mention;; some old fashion ; home made fishing floats. Some of us;; get together once a year for a rendevou for a few days of fishing; cooking; tons of fun !  This site offers something; to everybody; no matter what your age; and the main thing  we try to make sure of; is to have fun fishing !  Just hope you re consider leaving this fantastic site;  this site offers so much; in information; and help; its really unbeliveable

I have been bluegill fishing for over 75 years and though I've been skunked many times I never gave up on them.I have learned that bluegill are ahead of the class and therefor hold them in high esteem.I am far to old to concern myself about someones opinion of me other than a fellow bluegill fishermen.Well Tony Livingston is like the big bluegill that managed to get off my hook. Since he had such strong feelings about this site and also Carl Hendrix expressed a strong passion for the value of this site I had no choice but to readjust my attitude .I will spend more time and maybe I can contribute in some way.I can't help but like people with strong feelings about Big Blue Gill

Thanks for reconsidering Fred.......I live just down the road from you and share the waters you most likely fish......Any pictures or stories about your angling success would be very interesting to me and the other members.......We are blessed in our region and passion is what brought me to this site years ago........I don't get to thank Dr. Condello enough for making this site possible...........hope you join in and share your many years of experience.........thanks again for joining and hope to hear from you in the future..........

Jeff

glad to see your going to stick around Fred !  When I joined this site a few years ago; like many others; my idea of blue gill fishing was to get some crickets or worms; and go try it ! Since joining this site;; I have learned  a lot of very valuable  information about our quarry. One thing is for sure;;- no one person;; knows it all !! But with fellow anglers across the country; adding their ideas;; we learn so much more ! This is a great meeting place ; to share ideas; information; even a good hearted laugh or two !

Mr. Fred is right, I can't access any of Bruce's featured videos either. I'm sure this is some sort of glitch in the system because these are featured videos and have many earlier comments. The video in question has a comment by another member in September of this year about it being labeled private. So stick around Mr. Fred because I'm sure the administrators of this site will figure this out and we will able to watch these videos.
