Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Been fishing the drop shot with much success this year. Here is a good article I come across.                  http://www.in-fisherman.com/panfish/drop-shot-for-panfish/

EXCELLENT READ KEITH !

very good article!

drop shotting's been one of the 3 main arrows in my quiver for pan-fish for quite awhile now. deadly, deadly and deadly.

it surprises me how many fishermen still do not try this technique.

Great article, I've been setting myself up for some of this. Actually read this article a few times in the process.

Just about every fish we caught at the Rendezvous was on a simple drop shot rig and night crawler pieces. Recently I have been catching shell crackers and cats on the same rig in 8 to 12 foot of water. Very useful for searching lots of water. I use a light wire hook and 10lb. mono so you don't hang up much and when you do you can easily pull free. Less retying and re-rigging means more fishing.

how deep were the fish at the Rendezvous?

3 to 4 feet. About 20 feet from the shore. If we would have been casting bobber rigs towards the bank where the water was shallower we would have fished right over their heads. My wife started out with a bobber but soon switched to a drop shot rig when I started pulling the big shell crackers.

AND MISS B;; OUT FISHED EVERYBODY ! WON ALL THE TROPHIES  LOL !!  AT LEAST;; KEITH GETS TO ; KEEP THEM CLEAN NOW;;   LOL

Nice hadn't seen that one.

THATS A GREAT READ FROM JIM !!   HE SURE KNOWS A THING OR TWO ABOUT FISHING FOR BLUE GILLS !!
