Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Does anyone use these? http://www.joesflies.com/ I was told to use these by a friend while i was visiting my grandparents up in ohio. The next day i got them to take me to Gander Mountain and i bought several different kinds of em. Didn't have much luck with them at first, but i eventually got the hang of em/ the spots i was fishing, i ended up catching stuff like sunfish and rock bass. Back home in texas, i've caught pretty much everything on them. Some nice bass, sunfish, crappie, and even some small catfish. Several years later, back in ohio i caught my first small mouth, on my ultra light, and it had to be about 2-3 lbs. I was PSYCHED, but i have no idea why i didn't take a picture.

What i'm getting at though, is that if you haven't used em or something similar, you should try them out. When not using live bait, they have been my Go-to lure ever since.

Here's a pic of one of the bass i caught on it a few years ago.

I've been fishing a new location and I have tried everything.  I tried live worms (split shotting or float presentation), Berkley gulp worms, swimming/jigging grubs/minitubes, 1/12th Kastmasters tipped with everything, mini crankbait, Roostertails... I just got one of those Joe's Flies from Walmart last night and I got some actual action this morning.  Can't wait to try 'em a bit longer on my way home.
