Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Who here is putting in some time hitting the waters with their fly rods? I've been starting to dabble with a fly rod again though I had to give up tying I've gotten a few good resources. Just found a killer deal on a new 3wt rod if they let the coupon code stick I should have it in hand Tuesday morning.

Craig--  90 to 98 percent of the time- i use a fly rod for just about everything!  i have 2 tfo rods in 3 wt;; 3 rods in a 5 wt;; and 1 rod in a 8 wt.   and;; Greg Mc/ Williams;; uses his fly rods exclussively also.  He has both tfo;; and sage rods

I've been using one of my fly rods almost exclusively for several weeks.  Foam hoppers, and various nymph patterns below the hopper have been deadly!

100% fly rod. It's been a very good season with numerous gills up to 9 inches.

Been doing better in early AM and late about last 2 hrs of daylight with foam spiders mostly.   Have 2 Winston 8 ft  4 wt TMF (Tom Morgan Favorite) fly rods.   I'm about 60% fly fishing   and  40%  drop tight line with my 10 ft & 12 ft  Sam Heaton SS rods.

I've been having great days lately here in Southeastern PA ... using my 7' Wonderod, a 5wt 1969 model.   Today I was creek fishing, they were hitting a Caddis with a Pheasant tail dropper .... also caught a few on a small popper (no legs).
