Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I had went to this little pond last week, to try to get some good, macro shots of our only native species of sunfish, here in Cali > the Sacramento Perch. It's a really hard place to fish, solid weeds, and that day, so windy, I could not even get my bait into any of the little clearings :(

So yesterday, I went back with just my camera, and this Cormorant confirmed what I wanted to know....

Yes, Sac Perch are still in this pond. These shots are heavy crops, and the one with the best angle, was also just a tad OOF. But still, no doubt as to the species of the sunfish.

BTW, this Cormorant didn't act the least concerned that Sac Perch are very threatened....

Peace,

Fish
