Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Was able to make it out to one of my favorite gill lakes in search of some big gills for an online fishing contest. Found em sitting at around 12 ft. near the bottom. It was hot and heavy fishing for about two hours. I'm not a big gill fishermen but catching these hybrids was a TON of fun. Some of these fish would pull me around in the paddleboat! I think I caught 8 over 10 inches with the biggest being right around 11 3/4.

This one was an absolute pig!

All released to be caught another day!

Lost this 11 incher off the front of the boat while I was trying to get a length on her. She was laying perfectly still until I snapped the picture.

Awesome fish! Or better yet, freakishly huge!

I guess you are going to make me enter mine just to stay in competition.
Haha thanks man. I'm still not sure of which one I'm going to enter? It woulda been nice to get a pic. of that 11 that slipped off the front of the boat. Whoops!
You're right about those tanker hybreds...my wife got one just under 12 a couple of years back and the thing was absolutely amazing! Great day of fishing. Congrats!
