Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Looking for some advice of fishing for warmwater species in cold water, mainly bluegill, crappie, pumpkinseeds ect. I fished a big lake yesterday and I know there are tons of fish in it but I could buy a bite. What is your go too lures/baits when the water is cold? The water temp. was 46 if I remember correctly. My state has been getting a lot of rain and so the creeks are blown out which leads to a murky lake with visibility being around 5". Just looking for some help on catching some of these buggers till it warms up!!

Thanks

All I fish is a fly rod.  I like Cypret Minnow and MM Minnow flies fishing cold water. What ever you fish when the waters cold.....Just be sure to S L O W it down. They just don't seem to want to chase anything. The last Copper-Nose I caught, I barely felt the "take" and after setting the hook, the fish didn't really much fight in him.............water just too cold I guess.........Don in SC

sometimes smaller baits will help;; but slow it down  generally helps the most

Thanks guys, so slow is key. I will have to try the minnow patterns when it gets a little warmer. Man this cold water stuff is killing me right now!!! I need my fix of bluegill.
