surprised you are tagging gills in or close to the current... my gills avoid it

like your use of the double fly... my father and grandfather used to troll with the fly rods.

i don't know about the trolling method over the casting methodology... both methods catch a lot of fish... i love picking apart an area of structure... i could spend a majority of an afternoon picking apart a small stump field the size of a living room tagging fish that a trolling pass may only pick up a fish or two... but i believe it is a great way to locate them especially when covering areas of large open expansive flats where there is no particular structure to hold them in place.
