Big Bluegills in Southern Maryland

As I just posted a few hours ago, I just joined this page today.  I tried searching folks from Maryland and then messaging them but it says I have to be "friends" with them first so Ill just ask this publicly.  I live in Southern Maryland, Calvert County to be exact.  Looking to pursue bluegill, mostly for ultralight fun, with a few for my frying pan.  Also trying to get my wife to fish with me more, although she does enjoy being on the boat reading while I fish.  Question for anyone...Are there big gills to be had in either St. Mary's Lake in St. Mary's county or Gilbert Run Lake in Charles county?  Or does anyone have any other suggestions where I could tangle with some seriously big panfish?  Im new at trying to target big pan fish so my "big" is probably different than a lot of what y'all call big.  Ive been reading thread after thread on here and have already learned a tremendous amount.  Oh, Im not trying to move in on someone's secret honey hole either.  Just curious if any of you have any ideas for me and my little 14ft boat with an electric motor (no outboard yet) to tangle with some feisty palm sized slabs.  Thanks for reading.
