Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Going to a supposedly great shellcracker pond this week. What is your favorite live bait and artificial bait for them? I have always had good luck with 1 to 1 1/2 inch crawfish and with artificials that looked the same.

Crawdads or anything that looks like a snail or crustacean. If you fish the crawfish try pinching one of the claws off... it can really make a difference.
Tight Lines

I like to use a 1/32 or 1/64 hair jig with a whole redworm the like them best if they are alive and wigling. Throw close to bank or past first weed line ,fish very slow and if water temps are up fish close to bottom. Let the bait fall to bottom and reel in very slow. Red ears can,t resist.
Small crawfish are a great bait, I also like small leeches bluegill and shellcracker love'm. It's just a shame you can't get leeches around without having to order them.
When you say use crawfish, are you talking about artificial ones?
