Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Another Good day of fishing, Moby Dick caught at last

Another 2 year search ended yesterday. I caught a Nebraska Master Angler redear sunfish a few weeks ago, and that was a big deal to me. But I big ol' MA bluegill from public waters has been my true target......

10.25"

My buddy and I had a heck of a time locating, and then figuring out what they wanted, but we caught about 50 fish total, I kept 7 for dinner, letting the big one, and bigger ones swim to be caught another day.

Congrats on a beautiful MA Gill from Public Waters and it looks like quite a Monster to boot!!!! Way to go!!!
I can't say there was much of a pattern, I had tied on a copper john fly with a red body, and black and red rubber legs. I put about 20' of line out, and then stuck my fly rod in a rod holder while I rigged up my spinning gear to troll while I casted the fly rod. While messing with the spinning rod, the fish hit the fly like a freight train!
Beauty! Congratulations Alex and thanks for the photo!
Gorgeous fish Alex!....I hear alot of you guys talk about awards and citations for fish in your home states.....I don't believe that my state (IL) offers such a program.
Nicely done, Alex!! It's great when hard work pays off! I myself am on the same quest...Minnesota has a master angler award program too! I have achieved it a couple of times but, that was before I knew that the program exsisted. Congrats again!!!!
