Luck almost ran out

After all these years being out in all kinds of weather I finally got buzzed by lightning. The main bolt hit a tree and an arc jumped out and got me on the left hand. Left me with full drawers and a new breakdancing record in 'Fat Hillbilly category'.

Be careful out there friends!

Adventures with my wife

We went to check out a small state lake someone told my wife about yesterday. Pulling up that morning it looked really good, ya know....... FISHY!

So I make my kazillion trips back and forth setting up Ma's sunshade, table, and all the other sissy things she insists on.

Finally I'm done and grab my fly rod to head off exploring when a loud scream SNAKE stops me. I turn around and walk back to see Ma hopping around and pointing at the waters edge.... Hmmmmmm, a water snake.…

Float Tube meanderings

Now that I've been out a few times in my 'Tube I noticed a few things:

1: The wind in Kansas NEVER quits blowing...... EVER! So I'm learning where to launch to use the wind to my advantage.

2: Slow is definitely better. You fish an area much more thoroughly than in a regular boat.

3: It's sooooo peaceful! The world we live in is so noisy and hurried today, my 'Tube is the best stress reliever ever invented. Once I'm out on the water I can actually feel the built up…

Fatboy compromise

So much for HIPPA laws. My Dr. had a chat with my wife and the next thing I know my wife presents me with a bike and instructions to ride it 30 minutes a day. #$$%#$%@#$%$#%!!!

But after considering running away form home I realized there is a pond 1.5 miles from the house......... Hmmmmmmm!

Rode it out there this morning......... After the black spots quit circling in front of my eyes and I could stand up straight I fly fished for 30 minutes and actually made it home in…

Earl didn't have much to do yesterday so I drove out to Wyco lake.  Man is it low if you put a boat in that lake you would have to pick it up and throw it in the water Was thinking about driving down to Louisberg but just didn't do it.  Hope we get some more water some how but not snow.
