Hello Carl, I'm hoping to start scouting later next week when the weather warms up. Also my neighbor, who was raised and commercially catfished in Camden, has told me of one particular spot that has always worked very well for him in the past. I'll be looking to wet a line with you there soon my friend.

Thanks for the friend request. I am learning about this fly fishing game. It is a lot of fun. I have been practicing my roll cast and it would be nice to see an expert show me the right way. I can' t make this year' s rendezvous but I will definitely keep my calendar open for next year. Until then, I will keep at it. I have already gotten a lot better but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Carl, I do plan on attending the Camden Rendezvous this May. Unfortunately, I have never fished that area, even though it is only an hour from my house. My next door neighbor was raised in Camden and catfished commercially there several years ago. I'm hoping to get him to either tell me or show me some of the local bluegill and shellcracker beds prior to the event.
I'm really excited to make some new friends and possibly even get to fish with some of ya'll as well. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Carl you mentioned that the spring gathering was being held in the Paris area of KY lake but I see people talking about it being around Camden? Has it changed? Thanks.

Hi Carl. Looking forward to meeting up in the sping. My parents live on KY lake so we fish for Crappie and sauger all winter then Bluegill all spring. I'll be looking for more details as it gets closer. Thanks.

Carl. It's fun but dangerous. Did you see that pic of me getting impaled by Orrin's crank bait?

Welcome aboard Carl you got my juices flowing again. I know I have much to learn myself and hopefully with all the knowledge on this site we can become better accustomed with our electronics.

Thanks for the response , I figured you use them on cast less cane poles .When you use those 7-9" can you /do you cast them on UL gear ,maybe using 2# test . What about ice fisherman using these small ones I have ?Wonder 'bout that . Also , how do you doctor quills for fishing ?

Hey Carl ,here's a pic of some real small Porcupine Quills ,2"-3,3/4". I was given these but don't think I can use them ,too small .What size quills do you use  ?

In years passed, I lived in all corners of FL: Jax, P-cola, Key West and Tampa.

Being in the forgotten part is a good thing.

Hope your health issues are behind you and looking forward to your catches.

Hello Carl, Hey thank you for the friend invite...No problems there. As far as where Crestview is, It is at exit 56I-10 way out on the panhandle of Florida. Alabama has us squeezed on two sides, (west/north), with the gulf to our south....I am told by the folks born here, that this is the forgotten part of Florida.

Hello, and thank you for the welcome. I am just cruzzin' the site, getting used to it so to speak. Learning where things are on here right now. Haven't been fishing in quite some time time due to a few major health issues. Now that they are just about behind me now, I hope to get a line wet soon. Might be another month or so everything goes well....but I can refresh my mind as I read all of everynes exploits here. Thanks again for the welcome....Eric
