Hey thanks Magnolia Rick. I appreciate the welcome and the blog info. And I plan on doing just that...(blogging that is) if my wife will leave me alone long enough to play a little bit. At the moment I am busy with honey do's, ya know the Christmas decorating thing etc etc....sigh, but I'll get there asap.
Thanks Rick for the welcome. I live in St Cloud Florida. I can fish both lake Tohos and fish all 5 lakes on the alligator chain and there are more lakes with in 15 miles. I sometimes can't make up my mind which lakes I want to fish. I usually fish for crappie dabbling around the kissimmee grass and pick up nice copper nose bluegills. I got a nice 5 lb bass in one of the lakes on the alligator chain. I fish mostly with jigs and beetle spin baits. Green is the best color for gills here. I caught a 9 lb bass on a popeye and 6 lb line a few years ago. 9 in copper nose are common here. Just can't find them real often. Thats why I joined this forum, to pick up pointers. Thanks again for the welcome. Jim
Many thanks. Was out today for the first time since December 5th. Got skunked, but did have a small bass in tow until he wiggled off my tiny panfish targeted wide mouth hooks. Still, I'm landing a few in December, and to today it was down to 38. The Gills are in there, but their metabolisms are so slow, it's touch to get a strike. If you do, you gotta be faster than I was today when setting the hook...
Thanks for the welcome. I've just started back into panfishing since my kids are getting of an age to go fishing. The ice fishing is starting here in Wisconsin, but I know how Texans feel about ice fishing. I had been after trout for many years but with the Mississippi River about a block from our house I've started retooling my tackle. I've fished this water my whole life. Thanks again, Texans.

I just learned of this website. I love to fish for big gills, especially, through the ice. Sometimes we catch two at a time. I fish an 18 acre church camp lake. Stay in one of their heated/air conditioned cabins for $10 a night. Hunting deer right now.
