Welcome aboard Tony. Looks like we are off to a good start. There are so many different units out there with the fisherman in mind. You have the basic finders and of coarse the full blown that have anything you can think of then some. I'm hoping we can learn our finders and their potential.
Glad you were spared, sorry for the others.
I'm sure you are aware that accidents and damage occur after the storms pass. People rush to help or just overlook the changed environment.
Be careful.
Thanks Tony. I usually try different techniques based on the location, conditions
and what I've been failing at already. My.primary criteria is water depth, structure and cover, in that order. I mostly fish a large lake, and these are what matters.
If the fish bite hard on a micro spoon, I'll stay with it.
If I move or the bite slows I'll try something else.
I'm equipped to put nearly any TYPE bait in the water. I usually have more crap with me than I can use.
But I do confess, when all else fails.... I'll fall back on a worm.
I didn't think this big warm up would be good especially where some ice has already formed....I don't have to tell you to be careful but I will to satisfy my conscience.....
Tony I consider it a privilege. I really don't get out like I want with my circumstances the way they so I'm at the putor a lot and you know there's not a better group of people (fisherpeople) out there who are not selfish with there answers and continue to educate and participate in are discussions. They are the people whom I look up to you included. I've lost more than can be imagined and sometime I feel so left out because of my circumstances but really been so blessed going through life fishing about anytime I pleased and an understanding wife who put up with it so now it's time for me to be there for her but I'm human and I do have pity parties on occasion. We thought we were home free I had just retired and bang that was an awful day for both of us but you know I'm fortunate I can still help her and that is the true blessing so you see Tony if I can't do it like I use to fishing that is at least I can talk about it that helps. You know I hear some of the things we do to catch fish and it sparks memories I use to do that same stuff but forgotten so I can tell you I'm not remembering some of the things I have learned and I tribute that to me not being very involved like I once was. My inputs are not up to par so my participation suffers so I enjoy the invites providing I don't step on any toes. I hope on my invites I have covered all bases but the most important thing is what a nice group of people here that cover all walks of life and I don't here any bickering no one saying there better than someone else and we all just get along. What a great site and place to be with terrific people.
Hey Tony...I have an idea for an interesting piece for the In Fisherman about 'growing your own' bluegills and hybrids. I would love to include some of your expertise...would you be interested in helping out?
