John you're obviously a great fisherman but your photography is the best on this site. Awesome. It inspires me to take a professional photographer along with me!
My 3 wt. fly rod is a Cabela's (3 forks ?). It continues to do a great job for all kinds of fishing. I bought (2) reels for it. One I have sinking line, for drifting the shoreline of lake Erie and the other I have on Floating line for traditional fly fishing. (Panfish)
Depending on where I go, I just change reels and go. Pretty convenient. The fly rod...by far is more fun than any of my spin cast outfits...
Thanks for the kind words. Its been cold and rainy, for the most part, this Spring here in N.E. Ohio. I did manage to get out on lake Erie Saturday April 30th. We caught one Smallmouth. Large Female 5.1 lbs. 21"
No panfish yet. Hope to get into some big Gills soon...with my fly rod.
I know the feeling! ...I live in N.E.Ohio and it has been cold as well. I have gotten out once, but the bluegill and crappie were not active...soon I hope!
John, yes, I remember now that you mention "Johnny Redhorse". Always have loved your pics. I don't go there often anymore either, just pop up the occassional report to keep my guide service in the back of people's minds... We'll have to get together sometime!
Wow, It sure seems like you have special equipment, a whole bunch of talent, or have just been lucky with the way your pics turn out. I really appreciate all of the pictures that you are posting.
Thanks.

Hi John,
I have to agree with the rest of these good people, these are GREAT pictures. Any chance that you would let us know what setup you are using to take your pictures?
Hello John!!! I have been waiting for your spring shots all winter!!! Good stuff as usual!! I see you are off to a great start this spring! The fly bug has bite me hard this year. The casting is coming around slow, but surely. The float tube is all pumped up and ready if you want to go out again sometime. Let me know! Have fun fishin!
Hey John,
my brother (Zack t.) and i want to take much better pictures of our catches come spring. Whats a good way to make sure you have a decent picture every time?
Hands down, in my opinion the best bluegill photography in the world! I don't care how it was done I want to see more! Anyone who criticizes this guys work has got issues!

John,
We catch some pretty good size smallmouth bass out of lake Erie. We drift the shoreline with our fly rods using flys or tube jigs...
A lot of fun on a 3 wt. fly rod..
