Hey Bruce, Thanks for the welcome. Looking through some of your pics and...wow, very nice. Looking forward to seeing more as I just found this website today!
Thanks Bruce - I look forward to contributing and learning as I go.
Hopefully, our stocked northern native BG will pan out over the next couple years.
I look forward to learning about feeding, and managing decent sized Bluegill.
Not a huge bluegill crowd way up here. Which is fine with me! It's all walleye and more walleye! It's almost "ice time" so you will be seeing some hard water pics soon!
Thanks, Bruce! I was directed here from the FlyAnglersOnline website by my buddy Scott Kershaw.

I am familiar with you through my research into information on Wipers. We love that fish here, too!
Its always a pleasure to meet others who are passionate about fish and fishing!
I am often teased about my preference for bluegill fishing, it's widely accepted that bluegill only grow so big in the North, due to the short growing season. I love it when I find a good bite of decent bluegills, which isn't very often since I fish from the bank exclusively. I love to chase bluegill no matter what my friends think. I will continue my quest to catch that Record size one. Keep on bluegilling!
Wish I had a pic. I dont have a way to put it on the computer. It was 4"
and those fins were blood red.Body Light blue with darker blue spots. Beutiful fish. Caught at Robbers Cave in Oklahoma.
Hi Bruce, I am fly rodding blue gill hunter. in oklahoma. Caught blue gill cousin, not sure what it was. Almost completely blue but with bood red belly fins and tale. Any ideas what it is or know where I can find out?
well this may not be happining cause i was at bobs last night and working on a drain pipe and my phone got soaked. working on transfer picture somewhere else dont know if it is going to happen though
hey bruce i caught really big bluegill didnt have a tape, scale, or camera lol. sound like a story. i did have my cell phone so i did get those pictures. i used a 10 1/2" spiral notebook for a measurament. he is just as long as that. i think he will go 1lb. 8oz. i am somehow gooing to get picture off my phone and on here. a true monster.
Hey Bruce do the waters look familiar on my photo. This bluegill green sunfish cross was just over 8 1/2 inches I think. I took a length on my arm and later measured it. i was using the Condello method, a small jig with a pic of worm. I caught this fish the same place you caught yours at Bobs. Happy Fishing
