Thanks for the welcome...glad to see another Louisiana angler. I enjoy the site so far. Looking forward to sharing experiences and learning new techniques...
Hey I'm jealous, you should always be able to catch fish where your at , I grew up in Baker, La and learned how to bream fish on Old River and several other Bayou down therein the Atchafalaya basin and on Gulf coast. I'll always remember a trip to a place called Lake Martin where every bream we caught weighed over a lb. but we had to fight the cottonmouths and gators for every one. I'm in N.Ark.now but my wife is from Pineville,La. I miss fishing those swamps.
yeah shooter, I too believe that a few diehard shellcracker fishermen can put a dent in the population of redears. the first time I got into them, two of us caught over 150 out of one place the size of a small kitchen that were over a pound, in 4 days. yes we kept everything over a pound. that was dumb, and I won't ever do that again. that was about 6 years ago, and I have never caught them there again. kick me in my butt!
Looks like you know all about catching nice shellcrackers! Make sure to give us a little insider information on what your favorite techniques are. What's the best time of year to get these fighters?
