Well come on in Tommy, we're glad you joined. Ya'll from Florida, that;s good. Lots of guys on here are into ice fishing. I'm from Bama and just don't understand wearing a snowsuit out fishing. Good to have another Southern perspective.

Hey son, I joined the site also. I can't wait to get down there next week and catch me a couple of those 1lb slabs. As you know I really don't get the big ones up here until ice fishing time..... And get the skillet ready. I am tired of eating walleye....LOL

Thank you, the site is very nice.
  • Jeff Jordan

Thanks for having me. So far I'm very impressed with the site. Everyone has been very friendly to me and helpful. I'm an avid BASS man but I still must amit the Bluegill bring a warm spot in my heart and the peanut oil :)

Thanks for the comment. Carley has been fishing with me since she could walk.My other 2 older kids aren't into fishing like her. Looks like you've got her on the right track.

Tommy, I'm located west of Tallahassee, a couple hundred miles from you by road. I'll hopefully be posting some pics soon. I haven't been in the habit of taking pics of fish, but this site will give me reason to, now. ;-)
  • Patrick "Bullworm" Olson

So, Tommy, where are you fishing this weekend and what for? Sounds like you have some high caliber panfish waters almost all to yourself! I am off Tues and Weds next week and I might try a new place that is supposed to have some big crappies in it.
  • Rick Fuhrmann

hi tommy, infisherman had a special editon on panfish just recently , with an article by our own jim gronaw ..maybe if it sells enought they will have more !
  • John Sheehan

  • Dan Miller

Looks like you sure can fish for bluegill judging by your pics, your little girl is cute.
  • Dan Miller

Thanks. We were just bluegill fishing so my daughter could catch one. We were out of hot dogs so we used the chicken!! The weather must be great down there. I'm hoping to do some ice fishing this winter, haven't done it since I was a kid.
  • Jim Gronaw

Hey Tommy...I have been fishing on Monday and Thursday evenings after work since my wife has to work then. Went last evening and got about 10 small bass on worms and 2 hybrid sunnies that were 'small' for that particular pond, yet they were 9 inches long! Last Monday got 18 gills from 8 to 9 1/2 in along with 8 small bass to 14 in on the Rattle Flash spoon with a piece of Gulp. Hoping to go again this Mon...what's your plans?
  • Rudy Reynosa (True Shot)

Thanks they keep flopping around so the pic is blur. They are going to be added to my pan fish chowder. Taste good in the fall and winter.
  • Kevin Vanderhoff

We caught them on a tear drop with a waxworm. The third one down i think was 9 3/4" long and about 12 1/2 oz.
  • Jim Gronaw

Hey Tommy, What's up for the weekend? I am going to try and cash in on some crappies or gills somewhere because I am actually running low on fillets, been releasing a lot of fish but I am hoping for a fish fry soon. Caught a bunch of small crappie and some 'decent' gills last Monday.
  • Dale Fortin

about what temp doy you catch bluegill?
  • Dale Fortin

    thanks
  • John Sheehan

  • Jim Gronaw

Hey Tommy...hows it goin, good I hope. I see your fishin this weekend, good for you! I plan to go tommorrow with my son for some gills...it is supposed to warm into the 70's Sunday. Let me know how you do! Jim

Tommy this cricket is tried and true, but it also floats like a cork. Still thinking on the sinking one, But it won't get put on here till it catches B.G.. What color are the crickets you use in your home waters. The ones I see being fished here are brown. But I will let you know when I get figured out.
  • Lance A. Cashler

That photo was meant for you to see. It was cold in the boat, and windy! My point is that Florida is warmer, and you are not going to freeze. We are in the between time of freezing in the boat, or just wait for ice.
  • Lance A. Cashler

Hey, I saw the cold weather sweeping the east coast with huge snow in the virginias. How cool did you get down that way? I see you've been busy peelin the gills again. Where are you fishing around there? I spent a little time in your area 2 years ago. I took a trip on Miss Milwaukee party boat out of Tarpon Springs and caught the snot out of different types of snapper. I took several pounds of fillets to a hole in the wall bar/restaurant (The lime and coconut) and they prepared those fish 2 ways with a Greek style salad and other side dishes for $9 a plate. I personally thanked the cooks because I think their fish was out of this world! Better than I could have done myself.
  • Greg McWilliams

Tommy do you live on the water? Is it far to your fishing hole? Uh OH, do you have those swimming lizards with big teeth??
  • Jody Robert

Hi Tommy, Did you ever get to play with a underwater cam? I just purchased a Marcum and its like a new angle on fishing. Took limits yesterday and today out on the ice. Whats cool is you can pick what fish you don't want to catch. Getting the ones you do want to catch is a different story. But it all worked out. So whats it like in Florida. Saw on the weather you have some cool temps. JR
  • Lance A. Cashler

Yo Tommy! Are you still alive down there? Just checkin in on you.
