Bruce, good to hear from you. I'm still alive. I have just been really swamped with life. I actually planned on trying to fish in the a.m. for once in a long while (I love this Stones tune). Don't count me out, I shall return. I miss talking with all you good folks. Thanks again, Lance.
IM GLAD TO BE HERE. I HAD NO IDEA THE BLUEGILL WAS SUCH A HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER FISH. YOU GUYS CATCH THE LUNKERS. I HAVE YET TO FIND SUM AS BIG AS YOU GUYS HAVE CAUGHT. 9 1/2 IS BIG BUT I SEE HUGE ONES HERE. WHERE DO I GO HERE IN WISCONSIN TO GET SUM LIKE THAT?
Hi bruce you know I joined this site in Sept. of 08 I think there were 40 or 50 members. There are over 1100 now .
Did you ever dream this would grow like it has? Great insight on YOUR PART.
Thanks Bruce, keep up the good work and fight the good fight. Don't let the nay sayers get you down. My pic is from the spring regatta out at Louisville Generic Angler is to be credited with the pic.
Hi Bruce,
I have read about you and read your articles in Pond Boss Magazine. I just signed up for their forum for advice. Looks to me like you are the guru of large gills. I am looking forward to reading all the comments on your web page about gills. I hope to grow some big'uns in my pond that I am digging. Thanks for hosting this site. John
Bruce, on the rules blog I did. I had fun, as I do in most of my posts, but the truth is always hidden in there somewhere. I used bold letters in my interpretation of each rule so I could show I had given thought to what was expected and I was pledgeing to do. I even sollemnly swore in bold. I did this because I remember better what I write than what I read and I really do forget the simplest things sometimes. I had already read the rules a couple of times before. I get real wordy sometimes and poke fun every chance I get and feel I need to remind myself what not to do sometimes. Our rules are few, simple and wise. Here's hoping others will follow my lead and refresh their memory often.
Bruce, it's good to hear from you. My family and I are doing well, but with sports and school, the kids have kept us hoppin! I went on a christian, mens retreat this past weekend in N. Mich. and dabbled briefly in the small lake for a sample bass. Otherwise my fishing has been so hard to get at this fall. It's getting cool quickly here and I'm afraid it will be ice time before things slow down for me. Hope all is well with you and your family. It's cool to have friends like yourself and all the others I've met here on BB.

There's just one question. what do i need to raise bluegill? that is the only thing that i couldnt find on the search. just tell me if you'd rather me put stuff like this in your inbox. This is a great website.
Hey Bruce,
I like having this comment option to an individual person on the site. It is as close to semi-private as you can get on an open forum I guess. Lately though, some enthusiastic posters are filling up the latest activity column with comments to individuals. Fine with me but I feel like I miss a lot of the real latest activity such as new discussions or replies to discussions.
Can you talk to the "pooter wizard" about maybe not showing comments to individuals in that latest activity column? Then they could be even more semi-private and we'd all get more of the real "poop". Just an appetizer for your food for thought.

You are the bluegill king. I'm guessing your big 2.6 is a female copperhead phase bluegill. Nice!!!! If you kept it I will do you the best replica you have ever seen! Free my friend!!
Hey Bruce,
I want to be clear, I have no desire to limit any certain person's anything. Just wondered if the latest activity column could be manipulated to make all of our semi-private comments less noticable.
Hey Bruce,
Thanks for all the advice on technic last Friday. After that experence I may have to put up my bass fishing tackle and take bream fishing more serious. We need to talk about how we get you in a Twin Troller.
Hey Bruce, Dan Gwaltney, a friend I aquired on this site, is having problems communicating with anyone in comment boxes. He can add to discussions but can't click on some links like sign out. I have invited him to join one of the groups and he gets the invite but there is no join this group thing on the group page when he gets there. It's like part of his activites on BBG are blocked. He and I have talked on the phone and gone over everything we could think of in our settings and the groups settings and see nothing that should block him from anything. Then the comments on anyones page are blocked from him posting to. Would you see what you can do before I loose this contact with a newfound friend. I can still get up with him, but we like it here. E-mailing him would be helpful possibly so you could guide him through anything he might have screwed up.

I will be surprised if you don't catch a bigger one. According to Jim G. you are the most gifted angler he has observed. I am aiming for a three pounder this spring, on a 5 weight fly rod. In your opinion which side of a three pound bluegill would be most photogenic?
How was the trip? I haven't recieved a report from Jim or Bob. Did y'all catch some monsters? Did you see the pictures of the ones I caught on a crankbait?
Hi Bruce, As you have probably seen I have started my favorite fly selections. I looked at the cricket I posted yesterday and saw a 5 star rating. Of all the flies I have posted I can think of only one that might earn a rating. WHat is the criteria used for rating pictures? Just curious.
On the fishing side of things, the state of Oklahoma have stocked about 3100 lbs. of trout in my favorite blue gill lake. The gil get tough to catch, when they do that, but an evening hatch at the lake the ringing of the water can be trout, blue gill, bass and crappie. It is a lot of fun on small flies.
Bruce, Do you ice fish ?haven't seen you comment about it that much. Ice pretty much ends my fishing. All ponds in my route are iced over, but 53 is forcast for tommorrow. In the meantime back to the tieing bench. Have a new albumin mind.

Well the time has come. My goal for the year was a 2lb gill. I came close with a couple goggle eye. With only a few days left in the year I have one option left. I will be traveling to ms here within the next few days to a good friends watering hole. Hes been telling me theres some monster georgia hybrids in there. My chances of getting that elusive 2lber are gonna be pretty good. He wants me to do a clinic and clean out this place with all I can get in a day so we shall see. All the lil bittys are commin home and i shall only hope and pray I can land my old big boy! If im not back before the day then MERRY CHRISTMAS BRUCE!
Thanks for the welcome. Live in the U.P. of Michigan. We have some dandy bluegill lakes here, but can't compare to the warmer states of the U.S. Gotta love catching huge 'gills!!!!!!!!!!
i participate in bass fishing tournaments, but i probably spent more rec time chasing panfish. i guess i just like a lot of action, plus a big blue gill on 4lb test feels like a whale. pound for pound blue gills give any fish a good run for the money!
Hi Bruce, Great site you got going here. Would it be cool to get the entire group fishin together. Do some searching for the world ice fishing competition. This March it will be held on Boom lake near Rheinlander, WI First time ever in the USA. I plan to be there. JR
Hey BRUCE!! I think its time you put up another shole nuff shindig about some bigbluegill merchandise. Got about another 4 hundred members since the last one!
