OHHHH I See now. Its automatic when I use fire fox! I just started running fire fox instead of I Explorer. Well I know from now on which one I will be using! hahaha.
Hello there Mr. Bruce thanks very much just wanted to showcase the blue in bluegill. I hope to work up my page to look like yours though great job and thanks for creating THEE best fishing site in my opinion. Hopefully I'll be adding some vids when I can and LOTS of pictures. Thanks again, Henry
Bruce...most certainly have enjoyed the content of this site...
so many good hints and experiences shared to date...
thank you starting this great site for the gill fisherman...
continued happy days a fishing to you....
Hey Bruce, Thanks for the nice comment on my Sunfish!!! I seem to have found a good location for some nice RedBreast Sunfish (although there are alot of different Sunfish species in the general area--Gills, P-Seeds, and Hybrids from Crosses of all the above)!!!! Many appear to be exhibiting their spawning colors!!!!
ewwww its in the 90s here and gardens are fruitin and paintin needs to be done. Mr. Mayo is thinkin about fishing while takin care of chores. My boats got green stuff growin on the carpet from 2 weeks of no floatin. I hear her cryin sayin show me some attention. Lets go to the creek if only to ride! lol. Poor boat. Hopefully I will have all my honey doos done this week and then back on the creek. Sorry Ive been shy these past few weeks. Hows the new bizzzz goin? Hope all is well in BRUCEVILLE! I gotta get this paintin done before it gets in the triple digits!
hey bruce great website. I have tried other websites but either nobody gets on or they ban me because I am too young. thanks for doing this and letting me join. yes I am only 14 but I came to this site because i love fishing for bluegill and i really wanted to learn how to catch more.
Bruce. I have to say thanks for such a unique and fun site. I and the family are going through some deep waters right now as many may also be. The people and atmosphere of this site are such a nice distraction. Just people who seem to love some of the simplest pleasure of life in catching bluegill. I have to say that I look forward to seeing the new photos and of course messing with a few of the great people here at BB. Again, thanks.
First time I saw it too! I scraped the surface area disbelievingly ,thinking it was a parasite or mud or something but it was under the scales and perhaps skin though.
I released the fish realizing it was aggressive and not acting weak or in bad shape!
Thanks Bruce, I've been a big fan of this site for a while and finally decided to join ! The Gills you guys catch are amazing ! They don't get that big were i'm from. A close friend of mine holds the VT state record and it doesn't touch the monsters you guys are catching !
Thanks for the invite, honored to be add as a friend. Just uploaded, instructions to the boobie fly. Hope it came out alright. In the mean time Pawhuska Lake gills are calling my name.
Take Care
Greg
Thanks Bruce. I'm actually Jump n Fish on the NEFGA forums. I saw you didn't have enough longear pictures on your site, so I'd thought I'd join and contribute a few. : ) I LOVE LONGEARS.
Just outta curiosity, are you a fisheries biologist?? I got a fish&wildlife degree back in 93' from Lake Superior State Univ. and I'm not one. Your use of the scientific language has given my remaining brain cells an idea you are an edumacated man??
can it get any hotter!!!! Can we get anymore rain? Sorry Bruce. Im down to less than an hour a week on the creek. Kids startin school. Its 105 plus heat index and rainin every day for the past month. Rain dont bother me but the lighting that comes with is scary. Ive been a lil destracted cause of the garden and tryin to help out with my step dads honey dues. I have started fishing again the past few days late late in the evening. You would be proud. Im FLY FISHIN now. Know where I can get a cricket fly? haha. Hope all is well with the new business.
Heres to keepin in touch! pshhhh sudds gulp gulp gulp.... WHOOAAAA
I have to tell someone since I didn't use the camera. I fished a southern MI lake this week and was able to manage 5 species of sunfish off the same dock. I read that this part of the state had spotty plants of redears. These are a fish I see many times on BB but have never caught until now. I caught warmouth,bluegill,P-seed, redear, and bass. My biggest shellcracker was about 9". Anyway, I feel cleansed now. Thanks for listening.
Hi Bruce and thanks for running such a great forum! I'm sort of an old hand at discussion forums, and I'm tickled to find a good one on this subject finally. This one has some neat features that I haven't seen before, too. I've been wondering what the significance is of this "Friends" feature. Also, is there a personal messaging system other than leaving notes on a page? I notice that I have an inbox, but don't know just what it is for.
Thanks again, and I feel better now that my page doesn't tell me that I have no friends. ;-)
Hey Bruce! Hows the weather north of the mason dixon? Bein Im in the heart of it its always nice here. Finally got the garden done and been spending a few days fishing. Im fishin like paw paw taught me. Im goin back to my roots. Glo poopin bugs 45ft ahead of a auto real kissin the tree tops fallin in the water and smack! hahaha. I have tried something new. Well its really old. I found an old lucky 13 and remebered storys of what he called jigger fishin. 12" line lucky 13 and a cane pole. MURDER! I asked a couple bass fisherman and I got frowned on real quick. I was told my boat would be watched from now on in fishin tourneys. I tried it. OMG!!!!!!! IT WORKS. It will work you to death but if you wanna catch a limit of bass in less than an hour. Hey its the ticket. Funny thing is I had a couple big gills goin after it. Ima try and make me some kinda a lure with a smaller set of trebbles. Who knows. I may have found away to swap out the sport of it with a lil labor for supper! hahah. If it works dont worry. I wont keep em all. Remember this site teaches ethics to!
Does AnyOne Know Anything About Fishing North Al. On The Ten. River Or The Elk River Im Trying To Find The Big Ones NOW But Cant Seem To Get On Them Can Ya Help Me Out Please Sir. ?
Bruce, I haven't met you yet, but I hope to soon. I met with TJ last weekend at my pond construction site near Springfield, NE. I'm Omaha on PondBoss and Josh Milczski on Facebook. TJ told me I should get this site even though I don't have much to contribute...yet. ;)
Hey Bruce, thanks so much for your interest and concern about my friend, Hamp. I am in the dark, as his family doesn't know me at all. He called me two days ago, but I've heard nothing since, and have no way to contact him. About all I can do is watch the Obits. :-/
He is Carl Hampton Mercer, 75, a retired teacher. His last job was as a diesel engine mechanics instructor at a prison. He had been a small-time customer of mine at my sawmill for a couple of years. About a year ago, he came to me and asked me if I would please go fishing with him, as his family wouldn't let him go alone anymore. We have been tight buddies ever since, and have enjoyed many wonderful mornings and afternoons on the water together, and many days in the shop working on engines and such. I fervently wish for his recovery so that we might enjoy more of the same. If that is not to be, I have profited greatly from our friendship.

I'm not sure who, or exactly when the picture was taken. I think it was during our last canoe trip in Canada.
Thanks for this site.
