great video Damon ! you put a lot of thought and work into your float making; I had thought of using dowel rods before also; just havent got around to it yet.  one thing I have found tho;; on making a double wire loop;; sometimes; the fishing line gets in between the loops; making a weak spot on the line; so ; I opted for a single loop; works great ! I use staples for the wire; cut into 2 or 3 pieces; bent over a small finish nail; comes out perfect !  I make mine out of porkupine quills; paint them up ; to see them better
